A festival of everything that's good about apples
Meet our local cider makers and apple enthusiasts. All welcome
Apple Day is usually held around the country on or near the 21st October.
October is a very busy month for our main supporters (the local cider makers) and last year our apples also ripened early so we have moved it forward to the end of September.
The apple trees in our walled garden produce wonderful fruit and it is in their honour that we marvel at the beauty and versatility of the apple by holding an Apple Day celebration.
Allanton Apple Day this year will be a market place for local produce and will include activities for children and adults, apple and juice tastings, cake eating and tea drinking. It runs from 2pm to 4pm and is a free event.
Come along with your bag of apples to juice and a bottle to take it home in.
Bring the family and come and talk apples all afternoon.
In the meantime hope the Spring will be kind to the blossom and the bees will all be active so that in September we can all have a very good harvest again.
